Now, if you are one of my frequent readers then you probably know by now that I’m trying to re-strategize the way I build my brand online, and over the last few days I’ve been doing a lot of studying and researching on the most effective ways to grow a brand online.
Building a recognizable personal brand opens massive professional opportunities. In the wide world of the web and in today’s market, your brand defines you and helps you stand out.
A good example of people who have successfully build (or are on their way) a reputable and awesome brand online include people like:
I’m so sure that building such kind of brand/s takes time and lots of patience. Now, there are a few things that i have learnt in this process:
YOU NEED TO FLEE FROM THE COMFORT ZONE
When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Greatness is found beyond our comfort zone. We know this and yet we find it difficult to take the step. It’s not easy, we want to feel ready before we do it, but this works as a contradiction. It’s like not wanting to exercise until you have strong muscles; what you need to do is exercise to make your muscles strong.
I remember being so afraid with doing video marketing but once i decided to do it, i said that i will learn how to do it by all means since it was necessary.
2. REMAIN CONSISTENT IN YOUR BRANDING EFFORTS
As the picture says: Consistency is key in everything that you do. The goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to recognize you and what you are doing. I know that its tough but with consistent action you will succeed.
Business growth requires a track record of success. You can’t establish a track record if you are constantly shifting gears or trying new tactics. Many efforts fail before they get to the finish line, but not because the tactic was flawed or goals weren’t clear. The problem is often that the team simply didn’t stay the course to achieve the objective.
3. MAKE YOUR PRESENCE KNOWN IN ALL SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS
If you’re not utilizing Social Networks like Twitter or Facebook as an extension of your blog (not just to spy on your friends, but to network with your audience and actually provide good, relevant content on), then you’re not doing everything you can to be everywhere. The thing is: THIS is where everyone is!
Plus, the simple viral nature of these sites alone does wonders to help expand your brand and get noticed by people who would never have heard of you otherwise.
4. DON’T FORGET TO GUEST POST ON OTHER BLOGS
Guest blogging is probably the easiest way to get a load of relevant traffic to your blog in the shortest amount of time. Beyond that, and even more important for your brand, you and your site’s url (and possibly your logo too) will be shown to tons of people who may have never heard of you or your website before. After getting published, you’ll be instantly known by that much more people when they come across the blog post live on the site or in the blog owner’s RSS feed.
5. OVER DELIVERING ALWAYS PAYS OFF
It is very easy to make a sale when you over promise and under deliver – but what this does is create high expectations and greater room for disappointment.
When this happens and your customer becomes disappointed with your product and or service the likely hood of them returning are very slim and up to ten people know about this disappointment.
100 happy customers = 200 new customers
100 unhappy customers = 1000 unhappy customers
With all these said, building a brand online is not easy, you will need to work extra hard and smart.
